You can sail either the bay or lake side of the point. Apparently there are thermals that kick in during the summer on SE The bay is very shallow near the point, but the lake is sandy and deep. There is a grass rigging area on the lake side, Park in the day use area of the state park to launch in the lake. The beach is smaller but nice. The state park fills up fast, if you want to camp the night, get reservations.
