The spot is located at the Breede River estuary, at the small coastal town of Witsand. The River estuary, +-1km wide, is one of the widest in South Africa. During the windy season, the wind direction is predominantly South-East and the large sand bank at the mouth creates a buffer, creating a flat water surface even during strong wind. With friendly locals and a great beach, this is spot is a must-stop.
