Peniche is popular for it's surf, offering some of the best wave breaks that can be found in Europe. But the 3 miles (5km) long sandy beaches around the peninsula can give good kite and windsurfing conditions too, allowing to choose the right wind direction depending on where on the beach you decide to launch (expect to walk quite a lot though!). Wind strength rarely breaks Force 4, making this spot more ideal for kiteboarders.
