Point Chevalier (or Point Chev) is a great spot for beginners due to it's shallow waters and lot of space. Very easy to reach, there are heaps of grass where to set kites up.

Be aware of the safer launching areas, on high tide do it on the little sandy beach on the left hand side, in front of the park. On a lower tide, try to do it right next to the water, stay away from the park, houses and the motorway!!
Watch for oyster beds and wind shadows by the trees.
