Lakes Bay (Bay Drive) is close to Atlantic City. The beach is small and sandy, but there's lot of space on the empty properties.
Shallow on low tide, waist deep dead flat water spot, good for learning and try new tricks. No currents. Friendly locals.

follow the US 40 till you get to Black Horse Pike. Take a street south to the lake and you will hit Bay Drive. Best launch is on the left or right of Hampton Inn.
