love and Kiteboarding

This weekend, Kite Beach Tulum played host to 'Love & Kiteboarding', an event pioneered by Morph Kiteboarding to ensure the longevity of the sport along the Riviera Maya, in the wake of criticism surrounding the sport on beaches along the coast.
Beginning on Saturday 13th February and with the main event on Valentine's Day, the celebration of kiteboarding saw the arrival of professional Red Bull sponsored rider Maciek Koserski, and the gathering of people crucial to the survival of the sport including Civil Protection, hoteliers and kite schools in Quintana Roo.
David Furchtgott, Founder of Morph Kiteboarding said: "We are excited by the outcome of this important celebration, which has provided an arena for discussion about our sport and has shown the public that we are serious about ensuring that kiteboarding has only a positive influence in the area.
"We have made rules and regulations that both schools and independent riders will adhere to, making kiteboarding not only fantastic for those who practice it but also for spectators and learners."
The celebration began on Saturday at Isla Blanca, Cancun, with lessons taking place harmoniously alongside freestyle practice and world-renowned Maciek Koserski's impressive tricks and moves.

On Valentine's Day, the friendship between kite schools and the love of kiteboarding was celebrated in style with Playa Azul on Kite Beach Tulum, with music and dancing as well as speeches from all those who came along to support the cause.
Antonio Badillo Horta, Director of Civil Protection of Tulum, professional rider Maciek Koserski and Mexico's national champion Miguel Manzanilla were among those who spoke at the event, expressing their belief that kiteboarding will continue in harmony with the tourism industry and the local people.

David Furchtgott and other kiteschool owners in the area spoke of their commitment to maintain high standards along the beaches, and how they look forward to more people experiencing and enjoying the sport that they love.
