The sea of Costa Esmeralda is green (hence the name, Emerald Coast), the sand is light grey, the beaches are empty, accomodation affordable and food excellent!
The coastline is straight and ideal for quick or MEGA downwinders! The sea is hazardless, clean and free of traffic with waves between 0.5 and 1.5 metres.
At the southern end of the Costa Esmeralda (10mins drive), there is a large river estuary with flat water. Within a 2 hour drive radius there are a vast number of other ideal beach, lagoon and estuary spots for all levels of kiters.

Visit the incredible mangrove system that can be explored by a guided kayak tour.
Other activites include: sea kayaking, quadbiking, jet skiing, water skiing, fishing, bodyboarding, skimboarding and end the day with a massage in a beach spa.
30 mins drive: Visit the Centre of the Investigation and Preservation of the Marine Turtle and get the chance to release a baby turtle. Season from May to Sept.
1hr drive from the Costa Esmeralda are the famous Totonacan Archaelogical Site "El Tajin"

Very quiet area, many seaside restaurants but not many bars or clubs, nice Palapa bar in the hotel on the kitespot though.
