Porto Pollo, one of the world kitesurf and windsurf meccas, has two beautiful bays created by the promontory of Isola dei Gabbiani, with far reaching views to the archipelago of the Magdalena Islands.
The huge sandy bay situated on the north-east of Sardinia is divided in two by a sandy landstrip, ending in a small island with a residential village on it.
The kite area is a 10-15 minutes walk from the schools area. Is far more easy to take the car and park in the area close to the kite zone. Some cars' glasses got broken and things stolen, so better not to leave any thing in it.
The place is pictoresque and the waters are the typical Sardinia's clear ones. Being a very popular spot, it can get very crowded during weekends and at holiday time, so be careful in the water.
The dunes along the bay offer shelter to non-kiting partners looking to soak up some sun on the beach.

Visit the amazing Sardinia's litoral. Take a ferry to La Maddalena island (15 minutes ride from Palau) to see some wild nature. This breathtaking archipelago has numerous hidden coves with aqua blue waters and luxuriant Mediterranean vegetation. Home to dolphins and several kinds of fish La Maddalena is world-renowned for its naturalistic, historical and cultural wealth. For the historic types worth a visit to Italian and Southamerican hero Garibaldi's house in Caprera.
Diving is very popular in Sardinia, due to the clear waters and rich marine life. There are dive centres in Porto Pollo and Palau. Sailing is also very popular, and the windsurf center has several types of small catamarans for rent from Lasers to the Hobie Cat 15. Local equestrian centres offer half day trail rides with a stop for swimming, or scenic evening rides to watch the sunset.
Night scene:
Some bar life at the beach. To find some nightlife you need to move to Palau or Olbia.
