Lake Atitlan is a beautiful crystal clear blue lake surrounded by volcanoes. Two of the volcanoes pair up to create a wonderful wind tunnel that creates some great kitesurf opportunities.

Lake Atitlan
on 24 August 2009 - 6:12am
Lake Atitlan's most predictable wind is the "Xocomil", which blows 10-15 knots from the south, every afternoon. It creates good updrafts along most of the northern shore, usually dying off at sunset. The scenery is spectacular, with 3 majestic 13,000 foot tall volcanoes along the southern shore.
