In the heart of the Cyclades Islands, Paros offers year-round steady winds ranging from 12 to 35 knots (3 to 6 beaufort) and perfect flat waters thanks to the 1300m wide strait between Paros and the neighbouring Antiparos. It can get very busy in summertime.

hazards of cross-shore winds in Pounda

Make sure not to kite alone here in the early morning hours or after sunset. The winds do not blow you or your equipment back to shore. The prevailing wind blows out to the open sea, so if you need a rescue service then you have to be kiting during the open hours of the kite centres.
