Ras Matarma Bay, Ras Sudr

I have been a windsurfer for years and resisted my nagging kitesurfing friends who wanted me to change to the darkside... Until I went for the first time to Ras Matarma Bay, Paradise Resort, Ras Sudr... THE best place for kitesurfing and windsurfing I have ever seen, both for pros and most definately for learning...
A bay the size of the bay at El Yaque, Margarita Island, but with about a dozen people on the water on a busy day. Strong, reliable wind with warm, waist-deep waters stretching about 800m from the shore. Fab conditions, and totally safe, so I thought ' if I am going to learn anywhere it has got to be here...' Haven't looked back since.
The beauty of Ras is that even though the conditions are superb, truly world-class, it is relatively undiscovered giving it a friendly atmosphere with a unique, authentic feel at rock bottom prices. The Paradise resort is westernised, women are allowed to wear bikinis, and alcohol is served. I can't rate it highly enough...

I have been here and found

I have been here and found it a great place. It was so safe, to learn as well as improve. The bay is waist deep at low tide, flat water, rescue boat on standby. So you can be a beginner, or an expert throwing down new moves knowing that you can gather your kit and yourself easily if you've bought it!
It wasn't too busy either, loads of space in the bay
