Araruama is small calm town on the lake coast located 108 km from Rio de Janeiro. There's a very big sand bar without any sort of obstacles, great for safety. There's enough space for everyone to land and take of the kite. There are never more than 10 riders on the water. Dark sand, some shells and small rocks.

- If you are from São Paulo, you can take the bus of the company 1001. It leaves São Paulo at 22h30 and goes directly to Cabo frio-Rj-where he arrives the day after at around 6h30 in the morning.

Weather:
Tropical weather. From October to May it's hot and sunny, with air temperatures around 30°C (no wetsuit necessary, just a jersey). Short wetsuit is good from June to September, long you don't need at all. The main season is from August until February, but it's an all year spot.

The water is hot during all year long and very hot between January to March (25°C).
There is a deep side and a shallow side because of a sand bar and also a flat side and a curly side. No waves. One size is a huge swimming pool and than 1 miles of shallow water, perfect for learning and the other side is deep.
