great spot with flat, warm water, some times a little chop with strong wind. Warm temperature all year long, no wetsuit needed. The season goes from nov to may and theres many cool spots close by. Not too crowded.

Windy most of the year except the summer, when is too hot. Cancun is an island shaped as a 7. Therefore there are basically two possibilities: NW, N and NE winds can be ridden from the northern part of the seven. NE, ENE, E, ESE, SE and S, can be ridden from the longest part of the seven but then you have to deal with the waves and the shore break which is rather big and strong. Following down through the Mayan Riviera you can ride from NE to S, and sometimes there are reefs + or - close from the beach which in some cases can produce flat water. Winds are not very constant generally and can be ridden from 7-30, been mostly 12-18 knts, this during the winter months, December to March. March to May/June, mostly SE. July to August, rather no wind and September to December, hurricane season.

When is flat
Its Cancun. Tons of fun stuff can be done. If you want to avoid the party scene you can hop in your car and go see amazing spots like cenotes, hidden beaches, mayan ruins and all kinds of tours. And of course some of the best scuba diving in the world.
Do i really need to say? Its cancun!
