I ave been down in Mexico with Morph kiteboarding in Tulum for about 2 weeks now. It is stunningly beautiful down here. When the wind blows, I kite / teach, and when it doesn't we find other things to do. Two days ago, the wind was a little too low for me to head out under the kite, so I was sitting at the shop watching the other kiters on the water.

That day was not a simple "wind waiting" day... I noticed a sailboat sailing rather near shore, with very poor sail trim. A moment later I noticed that noone was inside the cockpit... The sailboat belonged to a guy named Fabien, from up the beach. I took off running and tried to head of the boat before it drifted too far, which I failed at miserably. By the time I go near it, the current and wind swept it well beyond my reach. At this point, Blaine (fellow kiteboarder I work with) was near by, so I flagged him down and asked him to drag me out to the boat. Apparently though I am quite a drag, because we couldn't keep up with it.

REVISTA XTREMO AÑO 12 No 50.

Estaba hablando con mi amiga Betty acerca de la
Copa Mundial de Kiteboarding que se iba a realizar en
Playa Mamitas la próxima semana. Me preguntó si yo
iba a ir.

de old school con new school ó Freestyle. A mí me
encanta el old school, pienso que es la representación
más linda del deporte. Decidí hablar con los tres
alumnos que tenía para ese día y obviamente me

Golden Gate , San Francisco CA.

Golden Gate @ Crissy Field , SF, CA.

Alcatraz

Here I am, Crissy Field, wind blowing from the NW at 20 knts average...
I´m riding a 9m, and I start heading out towards the GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE....

Cold Water, good wind, great environment around as they have the world championship of windsurfing, so there is a lot going on in the water.... wich by the way, was really good to see Mexican Faces around, Victor, Adam and Jessica.

This kiting session, was not a regular kite session, there was no jumps, no tricks, but it was more like doing something symbolic, something unique, and something that not many people has the privilege to do.... I just want to share with you, what is the feeling of kiting on such an ICONIC location.... some people say, that the GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE, is the Most beautiful site to DIE... ( ¿¿¿¿¿¿???????)....

Saturday 6 30 am, we are heading towards the Ferry in Playa del Carmen, we are told that we are leaving in the 7am boat, we show up and there is no boat until 8 am, this sucks, as the Captain´s meeting is at 9 am, to start the crossing around 10 am, we have good wind from the East in average like 15 knots , but the downside is with this kind of wind the later it gets the weaker it gets, until the point that it can dissapear around 2 pm due to the heat…..

well, just under one week left here in Hatteras and I cant say there is much to complain about. Today looked like it could have gone either way with wind blowing or not but luckily for us, the wind gods did not let us down!! Kite point was crowded with amazing locals and some new found friends from the middle of Canada. Kites ranged from 12m to 16m in the morning but that changed dramatically in the afternoon with anything from 7m to 12m in the air.
Jamie Cost showed up later into the day and invited me on a downwinder that would rank in my top 5 easily! Jamie was armed with his 11.5m and a surf board and I with a 12m and a skim. Clean wind all the way from Kite Point to First Turn Out on the north side of Avon. Everything from little waves to glassy flats added to a spectacular sunset and an awe-inspiring full moonrise!

yesterday, 1st of October, the first Morph Turtles were born! Manolito was great assisting them and taking care of them until the night goes down to be able to release them in the ocean!!!

avid, Jenna, and Dylan,

Thanks again for all your help and hospitality during our recent visit. It was great seeing you and the rest of the Morph crew again. Lauren is so pumped that she is up and riding now! We really appreciate the one-on-one instruction, friendliness, and attention to detail (and safety). It is what sets Morph apart as a World Class organization! It is exciting to watch Morph grow and expand yet maintain a personalized approach. Well, we landed in a blinding snow storm that made the drive home from the airport seem much harder than a kite loop but made it safely. Despite the cold, Lauren couldn't help herself and had to check out her new gear as you can see in the picture. Thanks for getting her set up and outfitted properly-I did explain that I may have to make sure the new 8 meter Beast works ok here in the midwest conditions :) as soon as we are brave enough to break out the wetsuits. I'll send some video of Isla Blanca once I get some editing done.

Another great adventure planned with MORPH Kiteboarding! We are heading up to Isla Blanca to enjoy the first solid North winds of the New Year! So if anyone is interested in joining us for kiteboarding lessons or just great adventures with the worldly MORPH team let us know as soon as possible.

As 2010 begins, so do the kiteboarding adventures on the Mayan Riviera. Slowly the wind is filling in and creating some great kiting, no matter what kind of riding you like to do. Kiteboarding has just begun and been greeted by a lot of excitement and anticipation as we open a school in one of the top rated, five star hotels on the Mayan Riviera. The two young instructors from Belgium and Canada are fitting in just perfectly and showing the Hotel guests what kiteboarding is all about!
