What is best for European travel? Cash or Credit?

I'm traveling through Europe in a couple weeks. Should I go get my cash converted to euros now or should I use credit while I'm in Europe. Do most European countries take Visa? Do I have to call my credit card company and notify them of my upcoming vacation?

Has anyone in the UK travelled alone to the US - how much did it cost?

I am thinking of going travelling to the US on my late 2012 and wanted to find out how other people found it. Roughly how much did it cost - where did you stay, did you move around, did you meet many people/friends etc?

Any advice would be great!

Thanks

Travel by Ukraine

The Ukraine
Ukraine is the second largest country in Europe, after Russia. The country is rather flat and includes the autonomous region of Crimea in the south.
Most of the Crimean Tatars were forcibly moved to Central Asia in 1944 to suppress their nationalist intentions.
Ukrainian
The official language of Ukraine is Ukrainian; one of the three East Slavic languages, closely related to Russian and Belorussian.
Early Ukrainian History
Tatar Mongols invaded the area in the 13th century but the western Ukrainian principality of Galicia, founded in the 12th century, suffered less from the Mongol invasion.
Annexed by Poland in the 14th century, although the Ukrainian Cossacks allied themselves with Russia.
The partitions of Poland saw much of the land handed over to Russia in 1667, while Galicia became a part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire from 1772 to 1919.

Pre-approval letter is a must!

Vietnam visa on arrival or pre-approval letter is only legally used for air entry, not land entry. Visa on arrival is legitimate and posted in Vietnam immigration laws: http://www.mofa.gov.vn/vi/ct_lanhsu/vbpl/nr040831084533/copy2_of_ns04083... - so it is endorsed by the Vietnamese Government.

Unlike other countries in the World, Vietnam visa on arrival means that your must have pre-approved letter from Vietnam Immigration Department in advance. At Vietnam airport (Noi Bai, Da Nang or Tan San Nhat), you will see "LANDING VISA" counter before you check out, coming to the "Landing visa" counter, show the pre-approved letter for checking on the system then wait for your visa stamped on your passport.
It may be confused as visa on arrival normally means that you can buy it at airport without preparing anything. In some countries, it is true. Yet, in Vietnam, it will be a too late or impossible to get into Vietnam if you have no pre-approval.

Pre-approval letter is a must!

Vietnam visa tips

Make sure your passport has at least 2 blank pages; the Vietnam Immigration Dept requires at least two blank pages.

Make sure your passport isn't going to expire for a next 6 months from the registered date. The passport expiration date must be greater than six months from the date of entry for thevisa you are applying for. If your passport does not meet the requirements, you must renew your passport.

Your visa application: you really need the assistance of a good travel visa service. You'll find that many of the visa applications are quite confusing. There are language usage differences that may have you scratching your head. If you are not sure, ask, do not guess, errors on forms can be costly.

Flying with Kitesurf equipment: guides and policies

People are often surprised that it’s possible to take kitesurf gear through airports and onto planes, especially given that currently a bottle of water is considered a security risk. But actually it’s not only possible but relatively easy to take gear, often for free. Wide-bodied passenger jets have a lot of space below the seating area and airlines are more than happy to sell you a place to park your board. If you’re prepared to pass it off as a set of golf clubs you might not have to pay. This article talks you through the whole travel process including getting where you want to go while taking everything you need, not paying over the odds, and not having it destroyed by the baggage handlers.

Car Hire Tips: what you need to know

Choosing a car hire deal that suits your pockets:
How many people are travelling with you?
The price for a car hire varies depending on the type of car and time of year. Rentals are more expensive in the busier times of the year. A larger vehicle will be more expensive than a compact, economy car. If the group is small, a compact car is a good choice. They are less expensive to rent. In addition, fuel costs are lower with an economy car.
Compare prices on the internet or through a travel agent. Compare companies at the airport, companies in the city and large, online companies to find the best prices. Be on the watch for any hidden costs that you might have to shell out at the last minute. It’s best to choose a company that has no hidden costs and mentions all its costs clearly in the website.
